Location

Kidepo Valley National Park is located near Karenga in Kaabong District, in the northeastern corner of Uganda. The park is approximately 220 kilometres (140 mi), by road northwest of Moroto, the largest town in the sub-region. It is approximately 520 kilometres (320 mi), by road, northeast of Kampala, Uganda’s capital and largest city.

Best Time To Visit

The game park experiences one annual rainy season from April to September with very light rainfall. During the dry season, the only permanent water in the park is found in wetlands and remnant pools along the southern Narus Valley near Apoka and as a result, wildlife is concentrated in this area. This consideration, coupled with the valley’s open savannah habitat, makes it the park’s prime game viewing location.
