Full Description

Masai Mara refers to the endless savannah plains dotted with acacia trees, shrubs and thickets in the southwestern part of Kenya. The Masai are the indigenous people of the land, nomadic pastoralists by tradition who in present day together with the government of Kenya manage Masai Mara National Reserve. These vast plains of the Masai Mara are crossed by Talek and Mara rivers which are the main water life lines for the resilient creatures of this land including the big five i.e. lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo, leopard. These plains stretch to the border with Tanzania where the Mara transforms into the Serengeti. Every year in June through to September, the Mara witnesses one of the world’s greatest spectacles i.e. the great migration where millions of Wildebeests and Zebras among other antelopes brave the deadly waters of the Mara River and follow the rains, crossing from Serengeti to Masai Mara in June and returning to the Serengeti in August through to September. The Masai Mara is one of Africa’s premier and unsurprisingly most visited destinations.
