Amboseli National Park is famously known for its large population of elephants and stunning landscape with views of the Mt. Kilimanjaro. The park is also home to over 400 species of birds with several unique species easily found close to Lake Amboseli. Amboseli National Park was established in 1974 and declared a UNESCO Heritage site in 1991 to protect the unique wildlife in the area. The indigenous people of the area are predominantly the Masai. The park is a great destination for wildlife and birds enthusiasts looking to have an intimate interaction with the wilderness in a limited period of time. Given the park’s area size, it can be easily explored in a single day safari.
