Full Description

Rwenzori mountain is one Africa’s top hiking and mountaineering destinations. It’s landscape is a stunning blend of Afro-montane vegetation, moorland and rocky outcrops and its lower slopes provide natural habitat to about 70 mammal species and over 200 species of birds. The Rwenzori National Park was named after the mountain and the park was gazetted in 1991 and was declared a UNESCO world heritage site in 1994. The predominant tribes around the mountain are the Bakiga and the Bakonjo and therefore a cultural tour into the livelihoods and lifestyles of the natives is a must have experience during or after the hikes.
