Full Description

Volcanoes National Park was established in 1925 to protect the inhabitants of the highlands rainforests i.e. the mountain gorillas, golden monkeys whose existence then was at the mercy of poachers. Over the years the park has performed incredibly well in ensuring the survival and conservation of these once critically endangered species. Today the Volcanoes National Park is one of Africa’s most visited tourism destinations, gathering thousands of tourists to explore and witness the great apes in their natural habitat. Volcanoes National Park sits high in the Virunga mountain ranges with five spectacular mountain peaks shaping the landscape i.e. Bisoke, Gahinga, Muhabura, Karisimbi and  Sabinyo. These mountain ranges provide one of the most iconic sceneries across East Africa and any one willing to hike is guaranteed the most beautiful sights of their life time while experiencing Congo, Uganda and Rwanda from Mount Sabinyo peak.
